The strategic changes are led by the appointment of Lance Ware as president, chief executive officer and board director. With extensive executive management experience in the technology industry, Ware previously served as chief technology officer at the company. He is a well-known leader and innovator noted for changing the landscape of digital media and content delivery with particularly relevant experience identifying and driving seminal trends for the technical advancement of wireless communications.
“I am honored that my colleagues have asked me to serve as chairman of the board, particularly as the company embarks on an exciting path in the months ahead. I’m looking forward to working with Lance and my colleagues on the board in realizing an even greater future for Cenoplex.”
The company has also appointed Robert Balascio, a wireless industry leader and former executive director of strategic planning at Verizon Wireless, as the new chairman of the board of directors. Having served as an advisory board member for the last year, Balascio is uniformly known for guiding the highest levels of authority within the mobile industry on all facets of wireless business through finance, sales, marketing and consumer analysis.
“Building on the solid momentum behind our service and inspired by our superb partners and management team, my focus will be on strengthening the combination of vision, technical excellence, unrelenting drive, and passion for the wireless industry that makes Cenoplex unique,” said Lance Ware, incoming president and CEO at Cenoplex.
“Mobile operators universally recognize how tightly Actionable Audio Messages fit in terms of solving the problem of reaching mobile customers efficiently and effectively. This is potent validation that our business model and product framework are on target, and reinforces my strong belief in the ability of Cenoplex to powerfully affect the way operators interact with their customers.”
Cenoplex’s Actionable Audio Message service, which is aimed at achieving more effective and intelligent customer communications for wireless subscribers, lets mobile operators insert an unavoidable, precisely targeted audio message into the quiet gap between call placement and call connection to deliver customer-oriented alerts and reminders for imminent minute and data plan overages, roaming, new phone eligibility, billing, public service announcements, and useful information to help subscribers save money and keep their account status up to date.
Unparalleled Leadership at the Helm
As Cenoplex’s new president and CEO, Ware’s deep knowledge of the company and its customers is coupled with a solid foundation in the wireless industry and a complete understanding of Actionable Audio Messages, the company’s flagship product. His operational and strategic leadership will serve to ignite innovation and drive progress as Cenoplex looks to engage with new opportunities inside and outside the mobile marketplace.
Ware commented, “After building the technology team and working closely with our outstanding sales and marketing executives, it is a privilege to be asked to lead Cenoplex into a new era of success. Our board demonstrates the strategic continuity and commitment necessary to keep this company on course, and we’ve got the right team with the right mix of skills and expertise to keep pace with the needs and aspirations of our customers.”
Ware is the former chief technology officer for Technicolor’s digital supply chain platform for content ingestion, hosting, security, delivery and consumer fulfillment. He is also an inaugural member of the Thomson Technicolor fellowship program in recognition of his lauded contributions to the company’s intellectual property portfolio and ongoing innovation.
He parlayed this position through pivotal work as the co-founder and CEO of SyncCast, where the technologies and services developed under his guidance powered the digital offerings of distinguished companies including Microsoft, Billboard, Warner Music Group, The Motion Picture Association of America, Lionsgate Entertainment, NBC Universal, EMI Music Group and DirecTV.
The seminal role Ware played at SyncCast in launching Microsoft’s Xbox Video Market Place brought the end-to-end electronic fulfillment assets of the company to bear as Xbox successfully captured the second highest market share in the video download space within a matter of a few short months. This success subsequently caught the attention of Technicolor which acquired SyncCast in 2007.
Ware’s career in advanced media technology began at venture-funded Voxel where he served as the director of technology, working with the lead inventor and marketing department to successfully bring the company’s new technology to market. Subsequent to Voxel, he founded WareNet Inc., an early SaaS leader in outsourced infrastructure.
Balascio Takes Chairmanship
“I am most proud of the board’s role in bringing to our company a visionary new chairman in Bob Balascio,” said Cenoplex’s new CEO Lance Ware. “He is a man of great judgment, able to build consensus even on the most challenging issues. As one of the sharpest minds in the wireless industry, Bob’s relationships and deep insight into carrier challenges will advance Cenoplex’s market penetration strategy and fundamentally drive our approach to providing the best mobile customer messaging platform available.”
Balascio’s devotion to the wireless industry and passion for excellence make him an outstanding choice to serve as board chairman at Cenoplex.
