YKK AP’s ProTek® Product Line Helps Long Island’s East Hampton High School Weather Extreme Storms

AUSTELL, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--YKK AP America, the leader in manufacturing high quality architectural products, today announced that its ProTek® Product Line was selected in the renovation and expansion of East Hampton High School on Long Island’s South Shore. East Hampton High School is often subject to harsh weather conditions and incorporated YKK AP’s impact resistant building products to ensure the safety of its students and faculty.

Most recently, YKK AP’s solutions passed the ultimate durability test as Superstorm Sandy rolled through the region. The high school served as a Red Cross shelter during the storm and provided refuge for 200 members of the local community. Improvements completed in 2011 provided enhanced protection to the building’s facade while staying within the school district’s budget requirements. The renovation included the use of YKK AP’s YOW 225TUH Impact Windows System, the YHS 50 TU Storefront System, the Model 35H Entrance Door, and the YHC 300 OG Curtain Wall. These products are proven to protect the structure from wind-borne debris and extreme weather conditions.
