DALLAS--()--Lisa Vaughn Lumley, Partner at Shannon, Gracey, Ratliff & Miller, LLP in Fort Worth, Texas, will be the guest speaker at the luncheon meeting of the Women’s Energy Network (WEN) – North Texas Chapter on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at the Fort Worth Petroleum Club, 777 Main Street #4000. Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. followed by the luncheon from noon-1:00 p.m.
“Getting it in Writing and Getting it Right.”
Lumley’s topic is “Getting it in Writing and Getting it Right.” Her presentation will be followed by a question and answer session. Lumley’s law practices focuses on issues related to the oil and gas and real estate industries as well as matters involving corporate governance, partnership and contract disputes.
“We are very excited to have Lisa Vaughn Lumley speak to our chapter in March. She has extensive knowledge in Oil and Gas law, and we look forward to her in-depth discussion on the dangers of non-lawyers papering deals by doing letter agreements,” said Debra Villarreal, 2013 WEN North Texas Chapter President.
Before joining Shannon, Gracey, Ratliff & Miller, LLP in 2009, Lumley was a partner at a Houston-based firm and an AM LAW 200 firm in Dallas. For more than a decade, Lumley has been teaching around the country and continues to be a sought out speaker and author on oil and gas issues and trial advocacy techniques. She is also a past chair of the Tarrant County Bar Association Energy Section, as well as a former officer and participant in a wide variety of energy-related associations.
Lumley earned her J.D. with honors from The Ohio State University College of Law, where she was managing editor of The Ohio State Law Journal, and was named the “Best Oral Advocate” by Supreme Justice Antonin Scalia.
