AHF to Support ‘HCV Coalition for The Cure’ White House Petition Drive—San Antonio Press Event Tues., Feb. 19th 10:45am

Group seeks 100,000 Signatures in One Month to Prompt White House Review

SAN ANTONIO--()--The HCV Coalition for The Cure is kicking-off its White House Petition drive. The petition needs 100,000 signatures in 30 days in order for it to be looked at by a White House staffer or President Barack Obama. AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), the largest global AIDS organization, currently provides medical care and/or services to over 200,000 individuals in 28 countries worldwide in the US, Africa, Latin America/Caribbean, the Asia/Pacific Region and Eastern Europe, will lend its support. Tim Boyd, AHF Director of Domestic Policy, will attend and speak in support of the petition drive at the launch.

In an attempt to raise awareness about Hepatitis C and the cure that exists, Margaret Dudley (patient and advocate), has launched the petition in hopes of garnering the attention of two large drug companies that together hold the cure. More than 4 million Americans have Hepatitis C, a disease that now kills more people than AIDS.

Please join us as we launch the petition. Interviews with Margaret will be available.
