Thank you, Design News for this prestigious Golden Mousetrap Award.”
The RH850/F1x Series was designed to meet the increasing demand for lower power and higher connectivity, all while maintaining security in automotive body applications. Renesas’ RH850 Series of MCUs is based on the company’s advanced 40-nanometer Metal Oxide Nitride Oxide Semiconductor (MONOS) flash process, which enables lower power consumption and better reliability. The RH850/F1x Series also includes an intelligent cryptographic unit (ICU) to enable security functions needed in automotive modules that are increasingly adding network capabilities. These differentiators represent the innovation and expertise that Renesas brings to automotive electronics design and are just a few reasons why Design News has recognized the RH850/F1x Series with this year’s Golden Mousetrap Award.
“Renesas is honored to receive the Golden Mousetrap Award for our 40-nanometer RH850 MCU,” said Amrit Vivekanand, senior director, Automotive Business Unit, Renesas Electronics America. “Providing solid functional safety and security features on a foundation of high-performance and low power consumption, the RH850 will help automotive designers develop cars that are both environmentally friendly and user friendly. Thank you, Design News for this prestigious Golden Mousetrap Award.”
“The Renesas RH850 MCU clearly stood out amongst the entries in the Automotive Electronics category. The part was chosen by both the Design News Content Team and its esteemed Advisory Board,” said Rich Nass, Brand Director for Design News.
Design News announced the winners during a ceremony on February 12, 2013 at the Pacific Design & Manufacturing Show in Anaheim, Calif. Winners were selected by the Design News editorial staff and the Design News Advisory Board, which includes thought leaders from the design engineering industry.
For more than 20 years, the Design News Awards Program has recognized engineering innovation and creativity in product design. This year, Golden Mousetrap Awards were given in five major categories: Electronics & Test, Automotive, Automation & Control, Design Tools: Hardware & Software, and Materials & Assembly.
