FRISCO, Texas--()--ZeOmega Inc., the premier provider of software solutions for population healthcare management, announced today that MDwise, Indiana’s only nonprofit managed health care organization, has successfully launched ZeOmega’s Jiva™ care management software to enable provider collaboration and improve patient engagement. MDwise partners with more than 1,400 primary care providers to serve more than 300,000 uninsured or underinsured people across Indiana. ZeOmega will host the solution for MDwise in its secure, SOC 2 compliant data center.
“Given the tight deadlines and the complexity of the implementation, this success would not have been possible without the commitment of MDwise leadership, and the extensive preparation and hard work of both teams on this project.”
MDwise’s implementation of Jiva, which was completed in nine months, covered a wide range of modules, including Case Management, Utilization Management, and Grievances, as well as capabilities to run analytics. With these modules, MDwise is now able to obtain a comprehensive longitudinal view of a member including demographics, diagnoses, care plans, medical and pharmacy claims.
"With our commitment to meet the special medical and social needs of the Medicaid population in Indiana, we are first and foremost concerned about continuity of care and patient compliance, as these are the top influencers of the overall health of our population," says Caroline Carney Doebbeling, MD, MSc, chief medical officer for MDwise. “With Jiva’s robust analytics, we will be able to easily identify non-compliant patients to re-engage them. We also expect improved patient engagement through better coordination and collaboration with our providers.”
“We are very satisfied with Jiva’s SaaS model and implementation schedule,” continues Dr. Carney Doebbeling. "With the software hosted in ZeOmega’s data center, our investments in hardware and infrastructure were minimized, as are the resources needed to maintain our systems on an ongoing basis. It also cut our implementation time down by at least 25 percent, enabling us to immediately put programs into place with the objectives of healthier outcomes for our Indiana families.”
“We are very pleased that MDwise is now using Jiva to deliver population healthcare management services to its members,” says Nandini Rangaswamy, executive vice president for ZeOmega. “Given the tight deadlines and the complexity of the implementation, this success would not have been possible without the commitment of MDwise leadership, and the extensive preparation and hard work of both teams on this project.” Ms. Rangaswamy continues, “We are confident that MDwise will see greater efficiencies in the coming months and years, and look forward to a long term partnership in helping improve the health of the people in the state of Indiana.”
