PHOENIX--()--DAP Technologies introduces the newest addition to its rugged tablet lineup with the M7000, a mini 7-inch enterprise-ready Windows® tablet with a brighter, sunlight-viewable screen (a demonstration video is available at http://www.daptech.com/resources/videos/the-m7000-mini-7-inch-rugged-tablet).
“As the marketplace embraces the convenience of consumer tablet technology, we see the adoption of tablets in the workplace continue to expand”
The M7000 offers field service, warehouse, transportation, facilities audit, or customer service personnel with the convenience and portability of a tablet but with a durable design for everyday work environments. The device uses a Windows-powered operating system for seamless integration with existing company networks.
“As the marketplace embraces the convenience of consumer tablet technology, we see the adoption of tablets in the workplace continue to expand,” explained DAP Technologies President David Molesworth.
“With our expertise in the rugged computing platform, DAP Technologies is designing tablets like the M7000 to help companies make the transition from the limited functionality of handhelds to the robust, Windows-based tablet technology.”
Weighing barely a pound (650 grams) and in a 5 x 8 inch construction (132 x 212 millimeters), the M7000 delivers lightweight portability in a rugged tablet with a bright, sunlight viewable, 7-inch capacitive multi-touch screen that automatically rotates to the proper position whether landscape or portrait. The M7000 tablet also features a 2.0MP camera with a rear flash to facilitate easy data capture.
Unlike consumer tablets that cannot withstand harsh conditions, the M7000 has a durable design to protect against water, extreme temperatures, thermal shock and dust to perform in even the most challenging environments. It is sealed to IP65 and meets MIL-STD-810F standards for shock, vibration and 4-foot drops to concrete.
The M7000 also enables connectivity and reliable wireless communication, with WLAN with an 802.11 b/g/n radio, Bluetooth, WWAN with optional 3G module, and GPS. It ships with Windows® Embedded Standard 7 and a 32GB drive, with an optional 128GB.
