TAMPA, Fla.--()--Syniverse is helping 10 Telefónica operations in Latin America rapidly grow their global roaming footprints and increase traffic via Syniverse’s Managed Services. In 2012, the solution exceeded targets for roaming service launches set by the operator, helping to extend global reach for end users and grow revenues.
“By taking over the burden of the tedious, critical process of executing roaming agreements, we enable customers to shift their focus where it matters most – delivering advanced capabilities and seamless, high-quality experiences to their subscribers.”
“Syniverse and Telefónica have a strong history of success in delivering superior end-user experiences, and this project has played a significant role in extending reach for our subscribers,” said Elena Gil Lizasoain, Business Development Director from Telefónica Latinoamerica. “The expanded global footprint and improved time-to-market for launches of roaming services that Syniverse has helped realize put us in a better strategic position to continue to innovate and deliver advanced services to our customers.”
When Telefónica turned to Syniverse to help optimize the end-to-end process of the opening and testing of GSM and 3G services for 10 of its operations in Latin America, Syniverse provided a dedicated team of experts to manage this process. As a result, Syniverse helped these operations exceed original targets by launching more than 1,000 services worldwide.
“Today’s mobile users have extremely high expectations for flawless experiences, which means they must be able to use their devices anytime, regardless of where they travel,” said Alfred de Cárdenas, Chief Operating Officer, Syniverse. “For mobile service providers to stay competitive, a robust global footprint with complex roaming agreements is required, and executing these agreements can be arduous and time consuming.”
With Syniverse’s Managed Services, Syniverse roaming experts work directly with a mobile service provider’s internal teams to efficiently implement roaming agreements, decreasing the time it takes for the services to reach commercial availability. Syniverse is able to tailor the service to each provider’s needs, and providers are able to set targets for service launches as well as the amount of professional guidance received from Syniverse.
More than 70 mobile service providers worldwide have benefited from Syniverse’s Managed Services, and de Cárdenas expects the momentum to continue as providers sharpen their focus on strategic initiatives to enable superior end-user experiences.
“Syniverse has more than 25 years of experience delivering superior mobile experiences. We have an extensive track record handling all facets of the complex roaming process, from interconnect technologies to real-time experience management to clearing and settlement, plus a team of experts whose background is unmatched in the industry,” de Cárdenas said. “By taking over the burden of the tedious, critical process of executing roaming agreements, we enable customers to shift their focus where it matters most – delivering advanced capabilities and seamless, high-quality experiences to their subscribers.”
