During this presentation, Felix Carpio, MD, MPH, medical director of clinical informatics at AltaMed, and Paul Daly, associate vice president of information technology at AltaMed, will discuss how taking a multi-vendor approach to technology has allowed the organization to improve quality while lowering costs for its safety net population with a focus on more patient-centric care.

During this presentation, Carpio and Daly will outline AltaMed’s three-phase rollout strategy for its IT program, including results and benchmarking data related to improved referral and authorization management capabilities. They will also summarize ongoing initiatives, such as the development of a health information exchange (HIE) to connect the provider organizations within AltaMed and the deployment of a comprehensive patient portal allowing for further engagement between patients and providers.
