The advisors named from Janney are: Ed Blumenthal of Philadelphia, Pa., Mark Eskin of Philadelphia, Pa., Jerry Scheinker of Baltimore, Md., and Allan Strange of Richmond, Va.

The Barron’s list, organized by state, is based on quantitative and qualitative data provided by more than 4,000 of the nation's most accomplished advisors. Barron’s analysis uses a complex formula that contains 22 points of ranking, all with various weightings. The calculation considers factors such as assets under management, revenue produced for the firm, regulatory record, quality of practice and philanthropic work.
Ed Blumenthal, Philadelphia, PA - Ranked 38th out of 40 in Pennsylvania
Ed Blumenthal serves as Executive Vice President/Wealth Management and a senior partner of Stedmark Partners at Janney Montgomery Scott. An Accredited Wealth Management Advisorsm, Blumenthal, along with his team, was recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal as a “Top Financial Advisor in Greater Philadelphia.” Also, in 2006 and 2007, he and his partner, Mark Eskin, were identified by On Wall Street magazine as among the country’s “Top Advisors Under 40.” Blumenthal is a member of the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council and serves on the Executive Committee of the Eastern Pennsylvania/Delaware Regional Chapter of the Anti-Defamation League. Mark Eskin, Philadelphia, PA - Ranked 37th out of 40 in Pennsylvania
Mark Eskin serves as Executive Vice President/Wealth Management and is a senior partner of Stedmark Partners at Janney Montgomery Scott. An Accredited Wealth Management Advisorsm, Eskin was named a Barron’s “Top Advisor” in 2010 and 2012, and, along with his team, was recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal as a “Top Financial Advisor in Greater Philadelphia.” Also, in 2006 and 2007, he and his partner, Ed Blumenthal, were identified by On Wall Street magazine as among the country’s “Top Advisors Under 40.” Mark currently serves as President of the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council, and is a member of the Planned Giving Advisory Committee of Abington Memorial Hospital. Gerald Scheinker, Baltimore, MD - Ranked 4th out of 20 in Maryland
With more than 45 years experience in the financial services industry, Scheinker serves as Executive Vice President/Wealth Management and senior partner of Scheinker Investment Partners at Janney Montgomery Scott. Throughout his career he has been awarded with honors from various financial services firms and was named one of Barron’s “Top 1,000 Advisors” in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. A member of Janney's premier CEO Roundtable, Scheinker is a graduate of Mount Vernon School of Law and the Institute of Investment Banking at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Allan Strange, Richmond, VA - Ranked 24th out of 25 in Virginia
Allan Strange, Executive Vice President/Wealth Management, has been advising clients on their investments for more than 30 years, and consistently has been ranked by Barron’s as a “Top 1,000 Advisor,” as well as a top Financial Advisor in the state of Virginia. Serving as senior partner of the Strange Baber-Group of Janney Montgomery Scott, he has been a member of Janney's premier CEO Roundtable since joining the firm in 2009, and recently earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designation from Fiduciary 360. An avid golfer, Strange played professionally for three years after graduating from East Tennessee State University.
