According to the National Coffee Drinking Trends 2011 report, the second most popular brewing method in the U.S. is single cup, 76 percent of which occurs at home. The study also indicates that most consumers who currently own or will purchase a single-serve machine will continue to use his or her previous brewers at home.

The company places great emphasis on quality coffee and only uses 100% Arabica coffee, which requires the right climate, elevation and care to grow. In general, the higher the altitude the better it is for growing the best coffee crops. The company sources Don Francisco’s coffees from all over the world, including premiere growing regions such as Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Hawaii, and Africa. Don Francisco’s Family Reserve Single-Serve Coffees will be available in four popular flavors:
- French Roast, a deep, dark roasted cup in classic French style, which is strong, black, somewhat tart and always satisfying.
- Breakfast Blend, a get-up cup with a rich aroma, deep roast, hearty taste and medium-high body.
- Kona Blend, a taste of the Hawaiian Islands, it provides an excellent cup of coffee with floral aroma and rich flavor.
- Vanilla Nut, a mellow coffee with tantalizing aromas of creamy vanilla and freshly roasted nuts.
In 1983 F. Gaviña and Sons introduced its Don Francisco’s Coffee line, which bears the family patriarch’s name Don Francisco Gaviña (Don is a title of respect in Spanish). The line was initially only available in a handful of stores in Southern California, and was only sold in cans until 2010. That year, the company entered the super premium coffee category with the introduction of Don Francisco’s Coffee Family Reserve, which is available in bags.
