CHICAGO--()--Training magazine, the leading business publication for learning, development and HR professionals, has ranked Grant Thornton LLP at No. 33 on its annual Top 125 list for excellence in employer-sponsored training and development programs. The rankings were unveiled Monday at an awards gala at the Training 2013 Conference & Expo in Orlando, Fla.
“As a firm, we aspire to support our professionals and give them access to opportunities that will help them develop and stretch their skills.”
“This award speaks to how seriously we treat the firm’s commitment to our collective and individual growth,” said Mike McGuire, Grant Thornton’s national managing partner of Markets, Industries, People & Culture. “As a firm, we aspire to support our professionals and give them access to opportunities that will help them develop and stretch their skills.”
“This recognition is an important milestone in our quest to become a premier learning organization - one that has greater employee engagement, leverages the full capabilities of our people, and attracts and retains the best and brightest,” said Mark Stutman, Grant Thornton’s chief learning officer. “A robust offering of learning opportunities, both formal and informal, exists within the firm and the excellence and high quality of these offerings was a key determiner of our ranking on this list.”
The ranking marks the fourth consecutive year the publication has included Grant Thornton on its Top 125 list.
Each year, Training magazine nominates organizations for its Top 125 list based on a variety of different benchmarking statistics, including:
- total training budget;
- percentage of payroll;
- number of training hours per employee program;
- goals, evaluation, measurement, and workplace surveys;
- hours of training per employee annually; and
- detailed formal programs
The final ranking is determined by assessing a range of qualitative and quantitative factors, including financial investment in employee development, the scope of development programs and how closely such development efforts are linked to business goals and objectives.
