Pepperdine University’s Irvine Campus to Offer Specialty Degree for Money Managers

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Pepperdine University in Irvine is currently accepting applications to enroll in a new specialty degree program that prepares Orange County professionals for careers in asset management. Pepperdine’s Graziadio School of Business and Management will begin offering classes for the Irvine-based evening and weekend part-time Master of Science in Applied Finance program in the fall 2013. The program is designed for those who want to work as a money manager and become a certified financial analyst (CFA). The part-time Master of Science in Applied Finance is a 16-month degree program that will meet weekly at Pepperdine’s Lakeshore Tower graduate campus in Irvine. The program will cover essential topics for success as a money manager and CFA; including quantitative analysis, accounting information and control systems, economics, firm financial management, risk management, spreadsheet modeling, financial statement analysis, valuation, and portfolio management.

The evening and weekend part-time degree is ideal for candidates who may have recently graduated from a four-year undergraduate program and have a finance background or for those who currently work in finance and need the CFA credential to advance.
