IRVINE, Calif.--()--Pepperdine University in Irvine is currently accepting applications to enroll in a new specialty degree program that prepares Orange County professionals for careers in asset management. Pepperdine’s Graziadio School of Business and Management will begin offering classes for the Irvine-based evening and weekend part-time Master of Science in Applied Finance program in the fall 2013. The program is designed for those who want to work as a money manager and become a certified financial analyst (CFA). The part-time Master of Science in Applied Finance is a 16-month degree program that will meet weekly at Pepperdine’s Lakeshore Tower graduate campus in Irvine. The program will cover essential topics for success as a money manager and CFA; including quantitative analysis, accounting information and control systems, economics, firm financial management, risk management, spreadsheet modeling, financial statement analysis, valuation, and portfolio management.
“The curriculum is designed to help prepare students for the CFA level I, II and III exams,” says program faculty lead Dr. Steven Ferraro, a CFA and a principal at The Center for Valuation Studies. “The M.S. in Applied Finance prepares graduates for immediate placement with asset management, private equity and banking firms in Orange County.”
The evening and weekend part-time degree is ideal for candidates who may have recently graduated from a four-year undergraduate program and have a finance background or for those who currently work in finance and need the CFA credential to advance.
