NEW YORK--()--A new study reveals that cosmetic enzymes can help delay future signs of aging. The March 2013 edition of the Journal of Drugs and Dermatology published a new study by board-certified dermatologist James Spencer, MD, on the effects of sunscreen plus PrecisionMD’s cosmetic Celfix DNA™ Youth Recovery™ Facial Serum. The study tested Celfix DNA™ on the arms of 19 patients, followed by a sunscreen twice a day for eight weeks. The results were groundbreaking, showing that Celfix DNA™ plus sunscreen are not only addressing damage caused by the sun, but also helping to delay future signs of aging skin.
“This research makes a strong argument for daily use of Celfix DNA™ and sunscreen for patients who want to delay the signs of aging.”
The results of the study showed the following reduction in biomarkers of skin aging:
- A decrease in pyrimidine dimers, in 18 out of 19 patients, for an average reduction of 53%.
- A decrease in p53 alteration, in 18 out of 19 patients, for an average reduction of 36%.
- A 73.7% reduction in the appearance of pigmentation (brown spots) and 63.2% in redness (erythema) as measured by a colorimeter device.
When it comes to anti-aging, according to Dr. Spencer, “This research makes a strong argument for daily use of Celfix DNA™ and sunscreen for patients who want to delay the signs of aging.”
An earlier clinical study on Photolyase, a key component of Celfix DNA™ Youth Recovery™ Facial Serum by renowned Italian dermatologist, Dr. Enzo Berardesca, MD, showed that sunscreen alone is not enough to protect your skin. Dr. Berardesca’s study tested the effects of applying an SPF alone versus SPF coupled with a naturally occurring enzyme, Photolyase, on the lower back. The result? There was a major reduction in the appearance of the signs of aging cause by ultraviolet radiation (measured by level of pyrimidine dimers) — almost as if skin was never exposed in the first place – when combining SPF with the enzyme vs. sunscreen alone. So, if you think sunscreen alone is giving your skin all that it needs, think again.
Let’s face the facts.
With 80 percent of the visible signs of aging skin resulting from UV radiation, the sun is kryptonite to your anti-aging quest! Your body does the best it can with up to 50 percent of that damage in 24 hours, but that’s not enough.
Celfix DNA™ Youth Recovery™ Facial Serum is a powerful, lightweight cosmetically elegant serum that helps fight future signs of aging. It is the only product that features Celzyme Technology™, a potent complex of three cosmetic enzymes including Photolyase, the enzyme used in the Berardesca study.
