TORRANCE, Calif.--()--Asahi Beer USA, Inc. announced today that the Japanese beer company will serve as co-sponsor for the 4th Annual LUCKYRICE Asian culinary festival taking place in major cities across America starting in April 2013.
Founded in New York by Danielle Chang, the LUCKYRICE festival each year attracts tens of thousands of participants to its events in New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas to taste culinary presentations of Asian cuisine prepared by top celebrity chefs. This year, Asahi’s Super Dry On Tap (Taru-Nama) Beer, imported from Japan’s Number One brewery, will take top billing alongside the culinary dishes as the official beer for the festival.
Brewed in Japan then imported to America, the premium beer was developed by Asahi Breweries after surveying comments made by over 5,000 participants who asked for a beer that was refreshing, easy to drink, and went with any type of meal. In brewing its Super Dry, Asahi follows more than 100 strict criteria to create its proprietary brand. Since last year, sales of Asahi Super Dry Taru-Nama have increased by 150% in the US.
At the LUCKYRICE festivals, Asahi will feature its special beer servers, imported from Japan, to draw beer from its kegs. These compact servers, which are approximately one-third the size of a conventional beer server, employ a specially-machined tap that create a creamy foam as the beer is drawn. This foam seals the beer, keeping it fresh longer.
The LUCKYRICE festival kicks off its annual celebration in New York City, April 29, 2013 before making its way to Los Angeles on August 3, 2013, at the Helms Bakery followed by satellite events in San Francisco, Las Vegas and Miami. At each event, festival-goers will be able to experience defining presentations of Asian-influenced cuisine by this year’s participating celebrity chefs.
Asahi Vice President Moto Suzuki comments on Asahi’s role this year as festival co-sponsor stating, “We look forward to serving Japan’s Number One-selling beer, Asahi Super Dry Taru-Nama, at LUCKYRICE festivals across America. Asahi Super Dry Taru-Nama is our most popular beer, not just in Japan but worldwide. We believe this is due to our absolute commitment to quality in manufacturing a beer that meets the exact needs and expectations of the public.”
Asahi Beer USA invites the public to learn more about Asian food, drink and culture by attending the LUCKYRICE events this year and sampling its Asahi Super Dry Taru-Nama beer along with a superb assortment of Asian cuisine.
