SAN SALVADOR--()--Central America's largest Department Store chain, El Salvador-based Almacenes SIMAN S.A., has completed the first phase of a major transformation to modernize IT systems in support of improved efficiency, profitability and growth. SIMAN has been a leading Retail presence in Central America for over 90 years and operates stores in major urban markets of El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica. The new software application, Oracle Retail Merchandise Financial Planning, which provides dramatic improvements to the retail planning process, was delivered by OLR, a global solutions consulting firm specializing in the Retail industry.
“OLR delivered on-time and on-budget, and OLR continues to deliver top-quality support for our business. We now have an MFP solution to enhance our planning process.”
In order to deliver a superior shopping experience for its customers, SIMAN has embarked on Project Genesis, a multi-phased project to deploy Oracle Retail solutions throughout the organization. "We are pleased with the quality and knowledge of the OLR Consultants on site, who are helping us define the configuration for our solution, and how we will operate in the future by streamlining business processes in conjunction with this new implementation," stated Rolando Saca-Siman, Program Manager for Project Genesis. "OLR delivered on-time and on-budget, and OLR continues to deliver top-quality support for our business. We now have an MFP solution to enhance our planning process."
OLR has developed a proprietary rapid approach to predictive planning applications and processes, which begins with templates that have been pre-configured by OLR to assist clients in moving to a new platform more quickly than would be possible with standard software implementation methods. Combined with highly-skilled consultants who have worked in planning roles across the retail industry, OLR's solution provides retailers with a solid foundation for efficient planning, yet remains flexible and scalable for future growth. Rather than working with a single pre-season plan, SIMAN can now have multiple in-season plans and run what-if scenarios if needed in order to make better decisions to that help ensure the right product mix is available for purchase by the customer.
Following this successful project, OLR continues to be engaged with the next phase at SIMAN to implement Oracle Retail Merchandise Operations Management, a comprehensive set of solutions to support buying, pricing, and inventory management across the organization.
