Memorial Hermann Health System Selects Stanley Healthcare Hugs Infant Protection for Its Houston Area Hospitals

NEW ORLEANS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--(HIMSS13) – Stanley Healthcare today announced that Memorial Hermann Health System, the largest not-for-profit health system in Southeast Texas, has chosen to standardize on the Hugs® Infant Protection Solution to provide infant security at nine of its hospitals offering maternal childcare services in the greater Houston region.

The strategic decision to partner with Stanley Healthcare for infant security was taken after the successful adoption of the Hugs solution by four hospitals within the Memorial Hermann group, including a pioneering deployment at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center encompassing both newborn and pediatric patient protection (watch customer video about the deployment).

Memorial Hermann Health System has initiated projects to implement the Hugs solution at five of the hospitals. Of these, two are already in operation, including Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, the primary teaching hospital for The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Medical School (UTHealth), and Women’s Memorial Hermann Hospital in The Woodlands specializing in healthcare for women.

When the Stanley Healthcare solution is fully deployed at all nine hospitals, it will help to protect over 20,000 newborns every year and deliver operational efficiencies to Memorial Hermann. Having the same solution across the hospitals supports uniform policies and procedures, thus greatly simplifying training for nursing and security staff and promoting awareness of infant security.
