MIAMI--()--DHL Global Forwarding, the air and ocean freight specialist within Deutsche Post DHL, announces its U.S. Customer Service Team has been selected as the winner of the 7th Annual Stevie® Awards for Sales & Customer Service Training Team of the Year category. The category honoring DHL Global Forwarding recognizes teams that develop and deliver training to customer service organizations and contact center personnel.

The honorees reinforce DHL’s efforts to promote superior customer service throughout its organization and with its partners around the globe.
“Each day we strive to exceed our customers’ expectations worldwide with a team-first approach, so it’s especially gratifying to receive recognition among our peers in this very special category,” said Jim Underhill, vice president, Customer Service U.S. “With a group of approximately 40 DHL Global Forwarding employees, we were able to establish a team of trainers that used interactive tools to engage over 2,000 fellow co-workers in 6,800 class-room training sessions to deliver customer service excellence.”
Under the leadership of Mr. Underhill and Brent Biedermann, senior director, Learning & Development, customer service at DHL Global Forwarding in the U.S. was transformed through the use of an efficient, cost-effective, colleague-to-colleague training approach. As a result, a paradigm shift in service was implemented throughout the company that has allowed for a consistent customer experience.
The Gold Stevie® Award was accepted by DHL Global Forwarding Feb. 25 at the awards banquet and ceremony at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In 2012, DHL Global Forwarding was also selected as a finalist and won Bronze Stevie® Awards at the 6th Annual Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service, in the Best Use of Technology in Customer Service and Innovation in Customer Service categories.
