The Standard Charitable Foundation Grants $9,000 to Human Solutions

Grant connects low-income and homeless families to jobs with living wages

PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Standard Charitable Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Standard Insurance Company (“The Standard”), has awarded a $9,000 grant to Human Solutions. The grant will support several workforce development initiatives by Human Solutions that will place more than 100 very low-income people in the Portland area into living wage jobs this year.

Human Solutions works with low-income and homeless families and individuals to help them gain self-sufficiency through affordable housing, family support services, job readiness training and economic development opportunities. Human Solutions’ Peer Supported Workforce Development and Living Solutions workforce initiatives have helped thousands of families in East Portland and Gresham in their fight against poverty through living wage jobs.
