ABOUT UW TACOMA MILGARD SCHOOL OF BUSINESS CENTER FOR LEADERSHIP AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Since June 2003 the Milgard family of Tacoma, founders of Milgard Manufacturing, have made gifts totaling $20 million to the University of Washington Tacoma to foster excellence in the Milgard School of Business. A portion of those gifts has been designated to establish the Center for Leadership & Social Responsibility. The Milgards’ strong belief in the link between business leadership and socially responsible and ethical practice led them to fund the Center. They had a vision of fostering grounded and ethical business leadership in students throughout the UW Tacoma campus and in the corporate culture of the business community.
