SPRING MILLS, Pa.--()--Gettig Technologies Inc, one of the leaders of engineering and manufacturing, goes to the auction block. Gettig began in 1952 in Spring Mills providing innovative, proprietary, and patented techniques into leading products and services.
Gettig possessed the unique ability to literally go from a "sketch on a napkin" to mass production quantities including design, prototype, tooling, molding, assembly, and packaging capabilities. The Gettig family of companies which included Gettig Engineering & Manufacturing, Gettig Pharmaceutical Instrument, Stelrema Corporation, Beacon Tool Corporation, and GPI Aviation, Inc. all worked together to bring the true meaning of value engineering, simultaneous manufacture, and speed to market.
Unfortunately with a company requiring such large capital investments in an economy that has been receding, little or no profit can be gained. The Gettig family of companies had to close all of its doors and now all equipment and contents of each facility will go to public auction. Included will be all manufacturing equipment such as Plastics and Rubber injection molding, Vertical Shuttle and Rotary Molding, clean room assemblies, lab sterilization, equipment packaging & much more. The Branford Group of Branford, CT working in cooperation with Hurley Auctions of Greencastle, PA will be undertaking this large scale auction with the next of a series of auctions taking place in Knox, Indiana starting March 20, 2013. Upcoming auctions for Gettig will also take place in Angola, Indiana as well as the final auction in Spring Mills (State College), PA on March 26th, 2013.
