Brean Capital Hires Joe Mannello and Brian McGrath as Executive Managing Directors and Co-Heads of Debt Capital Markets

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Brean Capital, LLC today announced that Joe Mannello and Brian McGrath have joined the firm as Executive Managing Directors, and Mr. Mannello will serve as a member of the firm’s Operating Committee. Together, they will lead the firm’s Debt Capital Markets and Corporate Credit sales and trading efforts, with a mandate to build out a middle market credit and distressed platform.

Mr. Mannello previously was Head of Corporate Credit for Gleacher & Company, Inc., a publicly-traded investment bank. Prior to that, he was Head of the Fixed Income Division of BNY Capital Markets, Inc., a subsidiary of The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation. Mr. Mannello was previously the head of the predecessor to BNY’s Division, Mendham Capital Group, Inc., which was founded in 1992 and purchased by The Bank of New York in 1998.

Mr. McGrath was previously head of Distressed Credit Trading at Gleacher & Company, Inc. Prior to that, he was a Portfolio Manager at Viathon Capital, a Credit Hedge Fund. Prior to Viathon, Mr. McGrath ran the High Yield Bond Desk at DB Securities Inc. Mr. McGrath received a BA degree in business from Lafayette College and an MBA degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
