LOS ANGELES--()--Chances are pretty good that you watch videos on demand. Chances are also pretty good that you watch them with a mobile device within four feet of your body. In 2013, the likelihood that you will use said mobile device to enrich your video experience while the video continues to play in the background is increasing at an exponential rate.
“We developed GRAVIDI to deliver a platform where you can stream video, and have every ancillary detail that could possibly come to mind effortlessly and beautifully incorporated into a single screen, on a single device.”
GRAVIDI is a first of its kind iPad app that combines Video on Demand (VoD) with second-screen technology, allowing users to instantly interact with what they are watching on a single screen. The beta launch at SXSW will feature videos and content from the hottest bands and films at the conference.
“Humans are naturally inquisitive, and smartphones, tablets and laptops have trained us to expect answers the same instant we consider a question,” said Chris Nickerson, Co-Founder and CEO of GRAVIDI. “We developed GRAVIDI to deliver a platform where you can stream video, and have every ancillary detail that could possibly come to mind effortlessly and beautifully incorporated into a single screen, on a single device.”
GRAVIDI integrates a wealth of curated editorial content, which is accessible at any time while watching a video. Viewers also have in-app access to share and discuss without interrupting the flow and quality of the overall video experience.
“We’re making interactive video cool again,” said Tyler Malin, Co-Founder and CMO of GRAVIDI. “Video applications have gotten too busy, crowded and noisy. User experience isn’t improving; it’s just getting more things thrown at it. There is no limit to how much information and interactivity you can have within a single screen when the interface is as clean and elegant as the GRAVIDI platform.”
With its debut at SXSW, all event theatres will feature a larger-than-life kiosk streaming the interactive GRAVIDI videos for all SXSW attendees in Austin. Now available in the Apple App Store for iPad, GRAVIDI is free during its introductory period, and comes loaded with music videos and trailers from some of the best content featured at SXSW, including:
