Target Health and LifeOnKey Receive BIRD Foundation Award to Integrate the EMR with the EDC Clinical Trial Database

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Target Health Inc., and LifeOnKey Inc., announced at CLINTECH 2013 that they are recipients of a $900,000, 2-year award from BIRD Foundation. The award, entitled, “EMR/EDC HUB - An Electronic Bridge between Medicine and Science,” will integrate the EMR with electronic data capture (EDC) systems for clinical trials.

The Israel-United States Binational Industrial Research and Development (BIRD) Foundation, established in 1977, receives joint funding from the American and Israeli governments to back collaborative research and development projects involving one American and one Israeli company.

The integration of the LifeOnKey EHR with the Target e*CRF EDC system, and the new applications and solutions to be developed, assures compliance with FDA’s rules and regulations that 1) the clinical research investigator maintain original source records; 2) source data can only be modified with the approval of the Investigator; 3) the pharmaceutical company sponsor will not have exclusive control of source data; and 4) clinical trial data and registries used as a tool for post marketing surveillance, will be maintained in one platform.
