OKLAHOMA CITY--()--Advanced Academics, a leading online learning provider for grades 6 through 12 that is part of the DeVry family of high-quality educational institutions, today announced a value-priced summer program designed to help school districts with budget challenges meet the diverse academic needs of students looking to make up credits, accelerate learning or explore academic areas of interest during the summer.
“Today’s school administrators are being asked to do more with fewer resources”
Advanced Academics’ robust summer school offering consists of a comprehensive curriculum aligned to state and Common Core standards; a 1:1 instructional model that allows students to receive individualized tutoring and assistance from any location using a personal computer, smartphone or tablet; proprietary diagnostics courses that accelerate credit recovery by customizing course content; and competitive pricing with flexible payment options. Advanced Academics’ unique instructional model also allows school districts to begin their program as early as this spring.
“Today’s school administrators are being asked to do more with fewer resources,” said Robert York, Advanced Academics president. “While summer school continues to be an important tool for helping students behind on credits catch up and stay on the path toward a high school diploma, it can also help students accelerate their progress or take courses not available during the school year. Our flexible, effective summer school options help districts stretch their budgets, allowing them to create customized summer programs that meet their students’ academic needs.”
Advanced Academics’ summer school offering includes:
1:1 Instructional Model
Highly qualified, state-certified Advanced Academics instructors are available to help students during critical learning moments 24 hours a day, Monday through Friday. Instructors offer individualized tutoring and assistance via phone, chat or e-mail. All Advanced Academics teachers hold bachelor’s or master’s degrees in their subject area and have significant classroom teaching experience.
Diagnostics Courses
An effective credit recovery option, Advanced Academics’ rigorous diagnostics-based courses accelerate course completion by focusing on concepts students have not previously mastered. Students take a two-part auto-graded diagnostic test that accurately assesses their current mastery of course standards. Course content is then customized to require only those areas for which the student does not demonstrate mastery. Students can move through their course more quickly, saving the school district time and money.
Competitive Pricing
Advanced Academics is offering special summer school pricing and flexible payment options for its comprehensive suite of online courses. Advanced Academics is able to deliver its diagnostics-based credit recovery courses for as low as $50 per student per course using the district’s teachers or as low as $150 per course using Advanced Academics’ certified, highly-qualified teachers.
Learn Anywhere, Anytime with the Advanced Academics Platform
Using Advanced Academics’ proprietary online platform, ROADS, students can access courses anywhere they have an Internet connection – in a classroom learning lab, at home or at the library. Now, the industry-leading ROADS app gives Advanced Academics students mobile access to the ROADS platform using iOS devices. Students enrolled in Advanced Academics online programs can access grades, post to discussion boards and get real-time assistance from teachers via an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch®. The app gives students increased flexibility by being able to access grades and other important data from a smartphone or tablet, as well as a personal computer.
Earn College Credit at No Cost
Advanced Academics students can benefit from DeVry University’s Passport2College program, which gives eligible students a chance to earn college credit at no cost, improving college readiness and helping students get a head start on their college careers. Qualifying high school students can take up to four college courses through the program. To participate, students must be juniors or seniors, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, and must have completed an Advanced Academics course with a grade of B or higher.
