SYDNEY--()--Charles “Chuck” Archer, Executive Chairman of Covata, has been invited to present at the first Policing Technology Industry Innovation Forum sponsored by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) in Canberra, Australia. The Forum addresses the increasing challenges facing law enforcement due to the expanding use of technology in preventing and combatting crime.
“Securing the chain of evidence is critical, and protection technologies such as Covata will ensure that evidence is uncompromised and available for investigation and, ultimately, prosecution. I welcome the opportunity to support the efforts of global law enforcement agencies and ICT partnerships in this important application of technology.”
Mr. Archer, a former Assistant Director of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation, combines a long and distinguished career in law enforcement with his work with technology companies such as Covata. His experiences uniquely equip Mr. Archer to readily see the integration points between law enforcement and technology. For example, the topic of In Vehicle Computing to enable crime scene chain of evidence to be captured, categorised and securely distributed through a mobile device is expected to be a topic at the forum. Mr. Archer will apply his wealth of field experience collecting crime scene evidence to offer pragmatic scenarios that apply data protection technology to secure electronic evidence.
“It is a great honor to be invited to this forum and a privilege to address the assembled members of the law enforcement community,” said Mr. Archer.
Covata’s Enterprise Data Protection capabilities protect highly sensitive crime scene data at the point of capture through the collecting mobile device. With Covata, that protection uniquely persists through the entire lifecycle of that evidence, as does visibility into all access activity associated with the evidence. This includes data of all formats: picture, videos, graphics files, and associated documents.
