ATLANTA--()--Rare, the conservative social content hub scheduled to launch on April 15, 2013 at the Newseum, today announced Tabitha Hale as managing editor. She will focus on building Rare’s social media reach, sharable content and national contributor network.
“The lives of most Americans don’t revolve around Washington, D.C. idiocy. Rare is where conservatism meets real life.”
Hale has a Twitter following of nearly 40,000 (@TabithaHale) and was recently named one of “The 50 Hottest People in Online Politics“ by Business Insider. She has contributed to RedState, Breitbart, Human Events and Townhall among others. Prior to joining Rare, she served as director of online outreach for the Franklin Center for Government and Public Integrity, a national watchdog group that trains citizen-journalists to hold state governments accountable.
“Tabitha Hale is a leader of the new fiery brand of bloggers who are throwing open the windows to bring fresh air into a stale movement. She represents what Rare will contribute to the political discussion,” said Rare’s editor-in-chief, Brett M. Decker.
“I am proud to join Rare and to help create a fresh approach to conservative news, political and lifestyle content,” Hale said. “The lives of most Americans don’t revolve around Washington, D.C. idiocy. Rare is where conservatism meets real life.”
Hale has long been an outspoken proponent for an aggressive and updated media approach to conservative political advocacy, and developed BlogCon, the largest-ever gathering of conservative and libertarian bloggers. Hale has trained hundreds of writers to advance the modern conservative voice of America.
Commenting on the 2012 elections, Hale said, “We lost because conservative ideas were not communicated in an attractive way. Obama won by making big government and debt desirable, but I think freedom and liberty are the sexiest ideas in the world.”
Hale will represent Rare at the 2013 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in March.
