iBASEt’s Solumina Supplier-Quality-Assurance Selected by HARCO Laboratories as Part of a Continuous Improvement Quality Initiative

FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--iBASEt’s Solumina SQA (Supplier Quality Assurance) paperless suite is being implemented by HARCO Laboratories, Inc. This closes the data-circle with Pratt and Whitney (a business unit of United Technology Company). HARCO currently uses Solumina SQA as a supplier to Pratt and Whitney and will now be deploying Solumina to a select group of HARCO suppliers during the initial roll out phase.

Solumina SQA will provide real-time communication for HARCO with its suppliers to improve quality results and reduce cycle times. It will offer them the ability to query real-time supplier status, constraints, and history records for all processes and activities.

It was during the Solumina investigative stage, working with iBASEt representatives, that HARCO became aware of the diverse capabilities of the out-of-box package. “Initially, the primary focus was on eliminating bottlenecks in receiving inspection, handling smaller quantities of received goods to facilitate inventory reduction, and improving ‘just in time’ delivery of product,” commented Mike Milardo, President of HARCO Laboratories, Inc. The software package allows absolute control of the suppliers’ ability to ship only conforming product, alert HARCO to in-process issues and non-conformances prior to shipping. The supplier will have the ability to upload documents such as, but not limited to: photos, test data and First Article Inspection Reports. All of the aforementioned documents are then permanently archived for HARCO and easily retrievable.

HARCO intends to incorporate added features, down the road, to gain additional productivity throughout the manufacturing facility.
