JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--()--The Main Street America Group’s board of directors has elected Eric Elliott as a director of the super-regional property/casualty insurer’s boards. Elliott is president and chief executive officer of Prime Therapeutics, the fourth largest pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) in the United States.

At Prime Therapeutics, Elliott is responsible for all operating and strategic aspects of the organization. This includes clinical, claims adjudication, member services, new business development, mail-order pharmacy and specialty pharmaceuticals management. With more than $12 billion in annualized sales, the Eagan, Minn.-based company is collectively owned by 13 Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans serving nearly 20 million insureds nationwide.
With experience running two integrated PBMs, Elliott is skilled at leading and growing businesses. His aggressive and innovative business leadership is focused on helping clients and individuals obtain the maximum value from their pharmacy benefits.
Prior to joining Prime in 2010, Elliott was president of Cigna's Pharmacy Management (CPM) and Voluntary businesses. He has also held senior executive level positions at Aetna, PCS Health Systems and Rite Aid Corporation.
In addition to being a director of The Main Street America Group’s boards, Elliott serves on the board of directors of Prime Therapeutics and the board of PCMA (Pharmaceutical Care Management Association), the national association representing America's pharmacy benefit managers. Elliott is also a member of the executive leadership team for the Twin Cities (Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn.) chapter of the American Heart Association.
Elliott earned his bachelor's degree in management and finance, as well as his master’s degree in business administration, from Temple University, Philadelphia, Pa.
