LAKELAND, Fla.--()--WellDyne, an industry-leading provider of health and wellness solutions, is pleased to announce a formal partnership with Polk County Florida to establish and sponsor the Academy of Pharmacy Technicians at Fort Meade Middle Senior High School. The program will provide interested students with extensive hands-on learning experience to assist them in entering the pharmacy career field.
“The Academy of Pharmacy Technicians provides the much needed experience and real-world opportunities that students need as they prepare for college and begin charting the course for their future careers.”
The unique collaboration between a local high school and a health and wellness provider will enhance and expand the county’s already successful Career Academies Program. WellDyne’s partnership with Fort Meade Middle Senior High contributes to the vision of developing students into functioning opportunists.
To kick off the newly created Academy of Pharmacy Technicians, WellDyne is hosting an open house for Fort Meade students on March 14, 2013, from 10 a.m. to noon, where they will have the opportunity to meet WellDyne professionals and tour the Lakeland facility. The tour will assist students in understanding the offering of the WellDyne Academy at Fort Meade Middle Senior High, as well as the potential that a career in the pharmaceutical and health care industry provides.
“We believe in the power of collaboration and are pleased to partner with Polk County to create meaningful opportunities for Fort Meade students to explore emerging pharmacy career occupations and technologies,” said Damien Lamendola, WellDyne owner and CEO. “The Academy of Pharmacy Technicians provides the much needed experience and real-world opportunities that students need as they prepare for college and begin charting the course for their future careers.”
”Our partnership with WellDyne will enable our school to bolster relevant, real-world learning in our core subjects and elective choices,” said Amy Hardee, Assistant Principal, Fort Meade Middle Senior. “Students will be able to steadily increase their integration of math and science and workplace skills to prepare for the intellectual demands of college and employers. We are driven to prepare all of our Fort Meade students for success and make the high school diploma more significant to their postsecondary journey.”
The Academy of Pharmacy Technicians coursework intertwines the course knowledge of the health care delivery system with the function of developing quality entrepreneurship skills in sequence with understanding wellness, pharmaceutical terminology, and technological innovations. The Academy is focused on educating the whole student through career-related interests, core knowledge, and individual achievement year after year.
