L&W Supply Takes Safety Stance; Delivers Safety Checklist to Industry

Checklist helps decrease construction incidents and injuries

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--L&W Supply, the nation's largest gypsum wallboard and building materials distributor, today announced the release of a concise checklist that reminds GCs and other contractors of the essential steps needed to be taken to ensure a safe jobsite delivery.

Safety steps on L&W Supply’s jobsite delivery checklist include:

• Pre-delivery jobsite inspections to look for hazards and determine the safest operating position
• Zero tolerance policy for operating cranes within 20' of overhead lines
• Back-up cameras on delivery equipment
• Mandatory use of a spotter when backing up
• Hard hats and steel toe shoes (even on residential)
• Restrict access to areas where crane is operating with use of danger tape

“At the end of the day, safety is about people,” continued Rennie. “If we care about our people, we will give them the right tools and equipment to be safe. For customers and the general public on the road, we are ensuring our activities don’t cause someone else to be harmed.”
