EDGEWOOD, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Smiths Detection’s HI-SCAN 6040i and 5030si advanced X-ray scanners have been purchased by the New York State Supreme Court to strengthen security at 19 of its facilities throughout the state.

The compact HI-SCAN 5030si and the larger 6040i version are ideal for use where contact-free inspection of pouches, bags, letters or packages is required.

The HI-SCANs are manufactured at Smiths Detection’s main U.S. plant in Edgewood, Maryland. The site recently expanded by some 100,000 sq feet to accommodate manufacturing for the company’s X-ray, baggage screening, and security scanning systems for North and South American customers.
