Proximion Launches DCM for ULH Coherent Links

DCM-HDC enables significantly extended reach for 40G/100G coherent links while also reducing power consumption and latency

KISTA, Sweden--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Proximion AB, a world-class provider of Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) based dispersion compensation modules (DCMs), today announced the launch of the DCM-HDC, the latest addition to its continuous band dispersion compensation product line. The DCM-HDC is a high-end passive dispersion compensator with extraordinary optical performance. It is targeted for use in Ultra Long-Haul (ULH) coherent detection links.

By compensating large amount of dispersion, up to 10,000 ps/nm per module, at extremely low loss, the DCM-HDC significantly extends the reach of long haul high speed transmission systems. Additional benefits of handling the bulk dispersion outside the DSP, besides reducing the complexity, includes substantially lower power consumption and reduced latency.
