New Orange “Livebox Play” STB Remote from SMK Leverages Motion Control to Deliver Intuitive User Control of Rich Media Applications

LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SMK, a world leader in the design and manufacture of OEM remote control solutions, announced today that it has developed and is in production of an advanced remote control for Orange new “Livebox Play” home entertainment service. Marketed to subscribers of Orange in France, “Livebox Play” delivers HD-quality video to all of the TVs, computers, tablets and smartphones in the home.

The compact “Livebox Play” remote control, designed and supplied by SMK Europe, leverages motion processing, gesture control, RF4CE communications and progressive joystick navigation to provide an intuitive user experience for Orange-delivered rich media programming. SMK will showcase this and other advanced consumer remote control solutions at this week’s TV Connect Exhibition (London’s Olympic Exhibition Centre, March 19^th – 21^st, stand #193).
