BATON ROUGE, La.--()--Resource Environmental Solutions, headquartered in Baton Rouge, a national ecological restoration company, with operations in Louisiana, Texas, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio and North Dakota, is donating 2,500 live oak trees to 55 participating parishes in Louisiana, announced, CEO Elliott Bouillion.
“RES would like to thank Senate President Alario, House Speaker Kleckley, and the Members of the House and Senate, who aided us in this statewide placement effort. This donation is a small token of our commitment of stewardship to Louisiana, its land and people”
The donated trees, to be planted by the Boy Scouts of Louisiana, were grown and potted at RES’ 640-acre native grass and tree nursery near Pointe Aux Chenes in Terrebonne Parish. The trees will be placed in 55 parishes, with the assistance of local legislators who assisted in coordinating local site selection. “RES would like to thank Senate President Alario, House Speaker Kleckley, and the Members of the House and Senate, who aided us in this statewide placement effort. This donation is a small token of our commitment of stewardship to Louisiana, its land and people,” Bouillion said.
Since the company’s founding in 2007, RES has planted over 5 million trees in Louisiana as part of ecological restoration efforts throughout the state on 22,000 acres of restored native habitat. Restoration sites are specifically selected to ensure the best chance of tree survival and enable large-scale, contiguous ecosystems.
Bouillion noted, “Each day, communities find themselves closer and closer to open water, more vulnerable to hurricanes, sea level rise and rivers that overflow their banks. Trees stabilize the environment and wetlands ecosystems. RES is thrilled to be the leader in ecological restoration of Louisiana. Balancing economic development with ecological restoration helps grow Louisiana infrastructure and maintain a self-sustaining environment.”
