Matt Butterfield to Serve as Vice President of Public and Media Relations at Mac Strategies Group

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mac Strategies Group, a fifteen-time award winning public affairs and public relations firm with offices in Chicago and Springfield, is pleased to announce the addition of Matt Butterfield as Vice President of Public and Media Relations. The addition of Butterfield follows the January announcement of Mayor Rahm Emanuel's former political strategist Tom Bowen as Senior Advisor to the firm; Mac Strategies Group is quickly becoming one of Chicago’s top public affairs firms.

Butterfield previously spent fifteen years managing the news assignment desk at Fox Chicago. He was the recipient of journalism’s prestigious Peabody Award in 2010 for his work at Fox and has been awarded two regional Emmy awards for comprehensive coverage of major news events. Most recently, Butterfield served as Communications Director for Illinois State Treasurer Dan Rutherford demonstrating success building a highly recognizable brand for an often overlooked constitutional office.
