SAN FRANCISCO--()--MyFitnessPal, the leading free resource helping people achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle, today announced partnerships with top media and data platform for fitness equipment, Netpulse, and premiere fitness manufacturer, Johnson Health Tech and its commercial brand Matrix Fitness. These new partnerships demonstrate an increasing demand by consumers to simultaneously track their food intake and exercise data, creating a more holistic view of their personal health and fitness.
“Health clubs work with Netpulse to offer a more personalized and rewarding exercise experience, and partnering with MyFitnessPal will allow us to bring exercisers a more comprehensive picture of their health and wellness”
By integrating with Netpulse, MyFitnessPal users now have the ability to sync their daily food diary and exercise log with its cloud-based exercise platform to receive engaging data from every workout on a Netpulse-powered machine. Netpulse has partnerships with eight of the leading commercial fitness equipment manufacturers, which accounts for over 75% of global fitness equipment sales to health clubs. MyFitnessPal has been integrated into NetpulseOne, Netpulse’s new web platform, and will soon appear in machine consoles as well.
MyFitnessPal’s users will also benefit from activity information on Matrix Fitness cardio products. As the third largest fitness equipment manufacturer in the world and the company behind other leading brands including Vision Fitness, users will be able to link their MyFitnessPal account on Matrix’s new 7xi series cardio equipment consoles for automatic syncing which will be commercially available in late Q2.
“We are excited to provide our customers with this MyFitnessPal integration,” said Andrew Kolman, Director of Console technology of Johnson Health Tech. “As a major fitness manufacturer, this partnership allows us to offer the next level of wellness-tracking to consumers using our equipment, which was simply not feasible before.”
"Health clubs work with Netpulse to offer a more personalized and rewarding exercise experience, and partnering with MyFitnessPal will allow us to bring exercisers a more comprehensive picture of their health and wellness," said Bryan Arp, Netpulse co-founder and CEO.
“We opened MyFitnessPal’s API to facilitate data sharing among our fitness app and device partners with our joint users; and partnering with fitness equipment seemed like a natural next step in offering our members a comprehensive health and fitness experience,” said Mike Lee, co-founder of MyFitnessPal. “Consumers are demanding simpler, more accurate ways to track their health and fitness information, and these exciting partnerships with Netpulse and Johnson Health Tech provide our members with additional resources to achieve their personal health goals.”
MyFitnessPal opened its API in October of 2012 to enable the real-time, seamless exchange of user data and introduced partnerships with top-tier health apps and gadgets including BodyMedia, Endomondo, Fitbit, and Runtastic as well as the Expresso exercise bike. Other recent partners include lifestyle-based rewards program, Everymove, and fitness tracking and heart rate training app, Digifit.
