The new 80” sleeper represents the largest sleeper in Peterbilt’s history and was designed for customers requiring fuel-efficiency, vehicle quality, and amenities to support operator needs.

In addition to the new 80” sleeper, the Model 579 is also available with a 72” sleeper and a new 44” low roof sleeper introduced earlier this year.
The detachable 44” sleeper provides easy bunk access for customers looking for outstanding comfort in a smaller package, saving weight and reducing wheelbase requirements. The 44” sleeper features a 31” coil spring mattress, LED dome lights and an LED reading/spot lights for exceptional illumination and longevity as well as reduced power consumption. Peterbilt’s detachable sleeper designs allow conversions to day cab service in the truck’s second life and beyond, increasing the resale value of the vehicle. Other additions to the 44” sleeper include a single left hand full-length access door, bunk-end storage tray, and door actuated baggage compartment lighting.
