SAN DIEGO--()--The College of Business Administration at San Diego State University (SDSU) announced today that Brian K. Devine will become a member of the college’s board of directors. Devine serves at the chairman of PETCO Animal Supplies, one of the world’s largest private corporations.

Devine has spent the last 23 years with PETCO, previously as CEO and president where he oversaw the company’s expansion from $80 million to over $3 billion in sales. Prior to his tenure at PETCO, Devine spent 18 years with Toys”R”Us in various leadership roles including senior vice president, director of stores for the U.S. and Canada.
“Brian brings added depth to our board with his exemplary record of leadership and considerable experience in the retail sector,” said Dr. Michael Cunningham, dean of the College of Business Administration. “His expertise will be invaluable as we advance our curriculum with best practices and guidance from top executives from the private sector.”

Devine’s tenure on the board began February 15, 2013.
