SearchRev Europe Hires Former Google UK Chief Kate Burns as Board Advisor

LONDON & PALO ALTO, Calif.--(EON:Enhanced Online News)--SearchRev, a leading developer and provider of Search Engine Marketing (SEM) technology solutions, today announced the appointment of Kate Burns as Board Advisor to its newly established London based European Operation. Previously Burns founded and grew Google’s European operations, starting in 2001 and building it in five years to a team of over 200 and delivering over $1.5 billion in revenue.

In her new role at SearchRev, Burns will work closely with Joint Managing Directors Mark Hindmarsh and Peter Jones, who recently established SearchRev Europe, to position the company as a major SEM technology solutions provider to media agencies, in-house PPC teams and specialist SEM agencies.

In addition to her experience with Google, Burns also worked at Alta Vista and DoubleClick in Europe.

Although official figures for the current year have not been published, some estimate the total bill for UK paid search in 2006 to top $2.2 billion, an increase of 65 percent over the previous year.
