The Homax Group Acquires Black Flag

Consumer, contractor products company adds leading insecticide brand to its roster

BELLINGHAM, Wash.--(EON:Enhanced Online News)--The Homax Group, Inc., a leading specialty-application consumer products supplier to the home-care and repair markets, announced today it has acquired Black Flag Brands, LLC. The announcement was made jointly by Ross Clawson, President of The Homax Group; and Steve Hill, President of Black Flag Brands.

One of the longest, continuously marketed consumer brands in the United States, Black Flag Brands manufactures and markets more than 30 different insect control products in the United States and throughout the Caribbean under the brand names: Black Flag®, Roach Motel®, Fly Motel®, and Yellow Jacket Motel®. Black Flag solutions to home and yard invading insects have always been an industry standard.

Black Flag adds a powerful brand to our portfolio, said Clawson. As one of the preeminent brands in a retail marketplace worth almost $2 billion, Black Flags brand recognition and market penetration can serve as a catalyst for Homaxs other products in a number of retail channels.

Hill noted one of the reasons why Homax makes sense for Black Flag is that its products are at or near the top of every category.

Clawson noted that current Black Flag retail partners and customers will see little to no change in how the company operates its business. He further noted that the investment in Black Flag fits in the mold of other investments of Olympus Partners, a Stamford, CT-based private equity firm for whom Homax is a portfolio company.
