Canon Communications to Launch MEDTEC France in 2009

MAIDSTONE, England--(EON:Enhanced Online News)--Canon Communications LLC today announced that it will launch MEDTEC France 22-23 April 2009 in Besançon, France. The new exhibition and conference join the company’s lineup of MEDTEC trade fairs serving Europe’s €65 billion medical device manufacturing sector, the others organized in Ireland, the UK, and Germany.

Exceeded in Europe only by Germany in terms of the production of medical devices, France’s 2,000 medical manufacturers produced some €10.5 Billion in finished medical devices in 2007. In selecting Besançon, Canon has strategically positioned its new trade fair in the heart of the highest concentration of medical manufacturing in France. Franche-Comté is an internationally renowned centre for microtechnology. Within this region and the surrounding regions of Rhone-Alp, Bourgogne, Champagne, Lorraine, and Alsace, there are nearly 1,000 medical manufacturing facilities employing thousands of medical OEM professionals. Besançon is also strategically located on the border with French speaking Western Switzerland, ‘Suisse Romande’, making MEDTEC France a unique showcase for Swiss medical technology companies as well.
