Criteo Appoints Jonathan Wolf as Chief Business Development Officer
LONDON--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Criteo, the personalized retargeting company, today announced that former Yahoo executive Jonathan Wolf joins the firm as Chief Business Development Officer. Wolf most recently ran corporate development for Yahoo in Europe, and will be based in Criteo’s fast-growing London office. His responsibilities will include all of Criteo’s publisher relationships worldwide. Criteo delivers mass-market personalized retargeting to its customers, allowing them to re-engage with every visitor to their site via display ads across the Internet.
“It’s very rare to see a European start-up with global ambitions, world-class technology, and a massive opportunity to pursue. Criteo has all of this”
“We are extremely privileged to have Jonathan on board, with his extensive knowledge of the online advertising industry” said Criteo CEO Jean-Baptiste Rudelle. “Jonathan’s international experience will be very helpful as our business continues to grow rapidly. We believe his decision to join Criteo is a huge vote of confidence in us, given his visibility of the best and brightest Internet businesses across the world over the last four years.”
Wolf brings to Criteo an extensive background in the online advertising business. Most recently he served as head of corporate development for Yahoo in Europe, where his responsibilities included M&A and strategic partnerships. His final eighteen months were spent restructuring and ultimately selling Kelkoo, Europe's leading price comparison business with significant operations in UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Scandinavia. Jonathan was previously responsible for Yahoo's entry into the display ad network market in Europe, via its exclusive partnership to sell Bebo's almost 8 billion monthly page views in Britain and Ireland.
“It’s very rare to see a European start-up with global ambitions, world-class technology, and a massive opportunity to pursue. Criteo has all of this," said Wolf. "Historically online retailers have bought very little display advertising. Criteo is transforming this, by allowing merchants to display personalized, retargeted ads. In today’s tough environment for the display business, this unlocks a huge new source of demand for online publishers. Criteo has built a great team and a great product, and I’m very excited to be a part of our continuing global expansion.”
Prior to Yahoo, Jonathan worked at Atlas Venture, Internet Capital Group and Boston Consulting Group. Jonathan studied at Oxford University, where he was President of the Oxford Union, and then Harvard.
