Open Source Initiatives, New Product Release and Expanded Partner Network Generate Continued Momentum in Network Management Space

(www.alterpoint.com), a leading provider of open network management software, today announced record results for the quarter ended March 31, 2008, highlighted by the largest first fiscal quarter of sales in Company history, and an increase of more than 65 percent in license transaction sales over the prior-year period. This is the company’s fourth consecutive quarter of nearly 50 percent or greater sales growth over the prior-year period.

Highlights and accomplishments in the first fiscal quarter of 2008 include:
- Record-breaking Sales: the largest first fiscal quarter of sales, beating forecasts by more than 20 percent; and the largest number of license deals in two years, including a leading outdoor retailer, one of the country’s largest and oldest utility companies, and a number of government agencies.
- Customer Validation/Market Adoption: over 300,000 network devices are now managed with AlterPoint products.
- Product Innovation: the “Mako” release of NetworkAuthority, which allows users to easily download and drop in device adapters, scripts, change templates and other content developed by the ZipTie open source community.
- Strategic Alliances: partnerships with software vendors Compliance Spectrum and Fortinet, intended to help enterprises ensure the continuous compliance of networks with multiple regulatory mandates, and deliver advanced management solutions for enterprise network security, respectively.
- Open Source Initiatives: the launch of ZipForge, industry’s first network management exchange where members of the ZipTie community and ZipTie Open Network Alliance (ZONA) can download, develop and share scripts, change templates, rules, policies, adaptors, plug-ins and best practices; and the addition of independent software vendors and equipment providers ADTRAN, CITTIO, Concursive and Silver Peak as new members of ZONA.
