Groundbreaking Website to Unite and Serve $500 Billion Beauty Industry
SalonGalaxy.com to Meet All Online Needs for Salons, Stylists,
Manufacturers in One Place
WEST CHESTER, Pa. (Business Wire EON) April 24, 2008 --
The world's most respected beauty industry trade show will serve as the
backdrop for the launch of a new website to serve this massive and
growing industry. Over 65,000 professionals from stylists to salon
owners are expected to gather at the International Beauty Show in New
York City April 27 - 29, wherein Salonity, LLC will officially debut its
new website, SalonGalaxy.com.
The site offers to meet all of the online needs of this dynamic market,
in one place.
At its core, the SalonGalaxy.com site will provide a social network for
beauty professionals, anchored by free
profiles for stylists and salons. With over 1.6 million licensed
cosmetologists in the United States, plus more than 650,000 registered
salons and day spas, the industry provides fertile ground for developing
a market-specific social network. The site will also offer a complete
slate of technologies to deliver the kind of functionalities that
internet users have come to enjoy from websites such as MySpace,
Facebook, Google, YouTube, Monster, and Amazon. From educational
resources to a platform for sharing video of artists' work, every aspect
of the site has met with positive initial response from beta testers.
“Our reception by all facets of the beauty
industry has been tremendous,” reports
SalonGalaxy.com Partner and Marketing Director Patrick McCabe, “the
amount of positive response we've received even before our official
launch has been really overwhelming.” The
company has received accolades from industry artists, salon owners,
manufacturers, distributors, beauty school students, school
representatives, and even members of the general public. “We
intended to build a site that serves as one place for all of the
industry stars to meet. It's clear that we've accomplished that goal,”
adds McCabe.
Investors have been receptive, as well. The company first approached
prospective investors when the site was nearing completion. Within three
months, they had met their initial capital goals. “It
took us more than a year to build this website, but our investors saw
the value and incredible growth potential almost immediately,”
says SalonGalaxy.com Founder, Partner, and Manager, Arthur DiGiacomo. “The
beauty industry is massive, and virtually recession-proof - our
investors agree this is an exciting space in which to operate,”
he adds. DiGiacomo is a 29-year veteran of the beauty industry, having
practiced as a stylist, trainer, and salon owner. He admits that the
industry has been in need of such a unifying force for much of his
career.
No industry exists without its respective consumers, and SalonGalaxy.com
will offer a place for them, as well. Users will be able to search for a
stylist or salon, and even pose
their hair challenge questions to beauty experts using the site's Ask
The Pros® function.
Company executives will be on hand at IBS Booth 1450 on Sunday, April 27
at 11am to conduct a ribbon cutting and meet interested industry
professionals. Executives will also be on-site throughout the show to
answer questions, award prizes, and demonstrate the site. Beauty
industry pros not able to attend the show can build their free profile
at www.SalonGalaxy.com.
Salonity, LLC, based in suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is a
privately held provider of industry-specific niche websites and
marketing services. The company's flagship product is SalonGalaxy.com, “the
site that Connects the Beauty Industry”®.
Company leadership includes a beauty industry veteran, leaders in
internet and technology architecture, and marketing and sales pros.
