Intelligent Compression Technologies Selected as Finalist for 2008
SoftwareCEO Innovation Award
AcceleNet® Software Accelerator Named as
Award Finalist in “Most
Innovative Enterprise Software” Category
QUINCY, Mass. (Business Wire EON) April 22, 2008 --
Intelligent Compression Technologies Inc. (ICT), a ViaSat Company
(Nasdaq:VSAT), has been selected as a finalist for the 2008
SoftwareCEO/CompTIA Software Innovation Awards. ICT was selected in the “Most
Innovative Enterprise Software” category for
its AcceleNet WAN
optimization and application acceleration client software that
speeds the application and file-sharing experience of remote and mobile
workers. The annual awards recognize products, ideas or business models
that break with conventional software ideas and processes, producing
results that go well beyond marginal improvements. Evaluation criteria
include scope of the business problem the innovation addresses, how
novel the innovation is, and the innovation’s
impact on the industry.
AcceleNet software combines advanced data compression, a broad range of
application protocol optimizers, unique handling of secure protocols,
and patented transport optimization. The AcceleNet client is designed
specifically to improve performance over networks with limited
bandwidth, latency and high packet loss, including 3G wireless, DSL, and
satellite. The architecture detects network conditions and application
protocols in real time and employs the most effective techniques to
speed user performance.
“I’m proud that
the CompTIA organization has recognized ICT as a company that is truly
revolutionizing software-based WAN acceleration,”
said Michael Slygh, ICT president. “Hardware-based
acceleration serves large remote corporate offices, but deprives small
office, home office, and mobile workers of the same benefits. With
AcceleNet, all enterprise worker productivity is enhanced.”
“The SoftwareCEO annual Software Innovation
Awards recognize our industry’s efforts and
accomplishments in bringing innovative products and new business models
to market,” said David Sommer, chief operating
officer, CompTIA, and publisher of SoftwareCEO. “The
companies selected as finalists for these prestigious awards are
delivering real business value to customers with their products and
services. We are pleased to recognize their achievements.”
Winners of the Software CEO Software Innovation Awards will be announced
at The Software Marketing Perspectives Conference & Expo in Santa Clara,
Calif., May 7-9.
