Transcard Honors Earth Day with Establishment of Transcard Green
CHATTANOOGA (Business Wire EON) April 7, 2008 --
Transcard announces the launch of Transcard Green, a division
that supports the development, education, and promotion of
environmentally sensitive projects in the pre-paid space. As part of
this initiative, Transcard will honor Earth Day 2008 by donating 100% of
the transaction fees on April 22, 2008 to charities involved in
preserving and restoring the Amazon Rain Forest.
Craig Fuller, CEO of Transcard stated, “Last
month, Transcard announced the launch of Transcard Mobile, a text-based
payroll stub that allows employees to receive their stubs electronically
on a text-based mobile phone, eliminating the use of paper and waste in
the process. We received overwhelming response and a number of inquires
from organizations that not only want to utilize this green initiative,
but requested for us to expand our green efforts.”
Among the initiatives, Transcard Green will:

Expand the mobile and electronic payroll stubs that help to reduce the
220,000 trees that are destroyed by the production of payroll stubs
that are thrown away and never opened

Work with clients to establish a car-pool gasoline incentive program
for their employees using a card

Add mass-transit incentive programs to the Transcard payroll card
product

Provide marketing resources and investment in prepaid programs that
have environmental friendly components

Recruit and develop programs that support green initiatives

Educate employers on the environmental advantages of electronic
payroll-card programs over paper-based payroll programs

Invest in technologies and systems that provide reduction in carbon
emissions across all of the Transcard product offerings

Incubate card programs which support green initiatives

transactions will go toward supporting projects that preserve our Rain
