WhereIsHD.com Adds VOD Listings and More

WhereIsHD.com, a free website
designed to help consumers compare high-definition (HD) television
services in their home areas, has added two new features.
By entering a ZIP code at WhereIsHD.com (http://www.whereishd.com),
consumers will now find not only all high-def networks offered by each
provider serving their area but also all HD video-on-demand services
offered in the ZIP.
“We’re really
excited about adding On Demand. HD is very competitive in the
subscription TV marketplace right now, and On Demand makes up a big part
of it,” said Product Manager Pinna Gallant. “This
is one of several additions we have planned for the site, so be sure to
check back to see what we are doing next.”
In addition, WhereIsHD.com has added news clips relevant to
high-definition channels. By clicking on headlines shown on the
WhereIsHD.com landing page, viewers can directly access the related HDTV
news story.
“We want to make sure that consumers have the
latest information on new and planned high-def channels,”
said Gallant. “Next step for us will be adding
channel descriptions, so that consumers know what is being offered. Some
channels which are only available in HD may not be familiar to all
consumers, so we’ll let them know what that
channel is all about.”
The HDTV listings, which are available for all TV providers (i.e.,
broadcasters, cable operators, telco, satellite services, etc.) in each
ZIP Code, are updated weekly, ensuring that the latest HD information is
available.
“We really see WhereIsHD as a valuable tool
for consumers to compare TV providers and their HD offers,”
added Gallant.
