Consumers looking for the best, or most, high definition television
programming in their area now have an easy web-based tool: WhereIsHD.com.
The new website, which is free to consumers, lets users enter
their ZIP Code to discover what HD services are offered by broadcasters,
cable operators, DBS, telcoTV and alternative providers in their area.
The process is as easy as 1-2-3. First, go to WhereIsHD.com and type in
a ZIP Code in the box provided. Hit enter and WhereIsHD.com will bring
up all the providers serving the area. By clicking on a specific
provider (for example, Comcast or Local Broadcast or DIRECTV
or Verizon), the user can view all the channels offered with high
definition television programming. Using information provided by
programmers, WhereIsHD.com will show what percent of each programmers'
service is shown in HDTV. A handy color-coded key makes it easy to find
high definition programming by genre including: HD movie services, HD
sports programming and local HD programming.
WhereIsHD.com is updated weekly to ensure that the latest HDTV
information is available.
