Global Knowledge Offers New Defending Microsoft Windows Networks Advanced Security Course

CARY, N.C. (Business Wire EON) April 22, 2008 -- Global Knowledge, the worldwide leader in IT and Business training, today announced the launch of its new Defending Windows Networks training course, a 5-day advanced Microsoft training class that teaches students how to protect a Windows Server Network from security threats. The course is designed for IT professionals who are responsible for system and network security administration, including security analysts and network designers.

Students will get an introduction to the concepts and processes needed to protect against attacks on a Windows Network, examine how attacks can compromise a Windows Server Network Infrastructure, and learn how to lock down their network. The class covers Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows XP, and Windows Vista. Students will learn about:

  • Concepts and processes behind hacking
  • Prevalent security threats
  • How to protect and defend against security threats
  • Ways to proactively leverage security policies
  • Using Windows Server 2008 and Vista to secure a Windows Network Infrastructure
